14.30 - 16.30 Workshop PAV Museum with Elisabetta Reali: Wurmkos A PASSION FOR WHEAT
The project A passion for wheat that the Wurmkos group has created for the PAV, takes its inspiration from the world of agricultural labor linked to the rites and popular culture rooted in the area of Lucania. These popular rituals are polysemous and represent the symbolic moment for evading that which Ernesto De Martino calls the “crisis of presence” or, in other words, the ability to preserve in our memories the experience necessary to respond adequately to a determinate historic situation. Rituals help mankind to bear this crisis of presence that it feels when facing nature, offering reassuring models to be followed. This occurs symbolically in the implicit ambivalence of the ‘wheat harvest’ since this is an operation which necessarily both kills/sacrifices the wheat and makes it available to man at one and the same time.
17.00-19.00

Workshop Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo with Irene Calderoni or Fondazione Merz with Mariano Boggia -

Art as industry: the structure of the field and its trends. The lecture will analyse the contemporary art industry, that is all the aspects relating to the production and commercialization of the art objects. It will take into consideration the different actors in the field and their relative positions, how they interact in order to create the symbolical and monetary value of the works of art.
